Whip it;
Camera Work;
The main shots used in this clip are long shots and midshots. The long shots are used to show the precision of the all the women and the girls on stage, by doing this we are able to see the girls posture and how perfect they are perceived to be. When Bliss walks on stage we see her through a mid shot, this is because she is not seen as perfect like her fellow competetors, she is seen as different and abnormal. By seeing Bliss in a mid shot her importance is highlighted which shows the audience that she is a main character. The only shot in this clip that is overly different is an establishing shot, this is the first shot and shows the setting of the pagent.
Mise en scene;
Costume is very key in this clip, all of the girls are wearing white dresses, high heels and have their hair up. This shows the audience that they are of higher class and that they are trying to impress someone. When Bliss enters the scene she has scruffy blue hair, which is very different to the rest of the girls. By doing this Bliss stands out as is seen as the rebellious teenager, instead of the perfect girl like the rest of her competitors.
This clip is set at a beauty pagent, there is a stage which is the main view point of the scene. This is where the pagent girls are all standing and giving their speeches, the stage is quite dull due to the muted blue tones,which makes all of the girls stand out.

Sound;
During the whole first 2 minutes of this clip there is a continuous score, this is fast paced and in a major key to show that the main character is rushing, worried but actually finds the situation funny. When the camera cuts to the girls talking on stage the score becomes more fluid and elegant, but whenever Bliss is in the shot the fast paced score becomes more apparent.
When Bliss walks on stage there is a musical attack, this shows the extent of the effect Bliss is having on her audience. Due to the cut of score we are able to hear the digetic sound of Bliss walking across the stage which adds to the shock effect. Also when Bliss walks on stage we hear the sound of a glass smashing, this would have been done using foley, again this excentuates the shock of the audience.
Editing;
Non continuity editing is used through out the whole clip, this makes the audience notice the the stress of the main character as there is a lot of sharp cuts and cross cutting.
Shot reverse shot is used when Bliss walks onto the stage, this shows the reaction of Bliss and her mother and the shocked state of the rest of the audience.

Graphics;
The typography used in this clip is in a style that is very bold and noticeable. This ties into the theme of this film very well because it is based around the main character (Bliss) following her dreams to become a darby racer, which is very bold and daring compared to her usual hobby of being a pagent girl. The red words signify rebellion, this relates to the main character going against her mothers wishes to chase her own dreams. There is a slightly rough edge on the outskirts of each letter, this showcases the edge that Bliss has for her to go through with a dangerous sport.
Representation; The representation issue is Ability. The whole plot line is about the main character proving that she is able to do a dangerous sport and doesnt have to do what is percieved as normal for a girl.
Age certificates;
The rating on this film is a 12, this is because some dangerous behaviours are present in the form of derby racing. Along with these behaviours there are some mild explicit terms which are seen as inapropriate for younger viewers.
