Typography;

We looked at a range of different font styles that would suit the film title that we created. We chose to do the two seperate words in different styles, 'suck' is always in a more femanin style whereas 'it' is always in a masculin style. We found 3 different styles that we paired together to make our title.

These are the final 2 fonts that we have decided on, these will be featured in out film as the opening title. We chose these as they represent 2 of the most important character groups in our film, the weird kids and the jocks. The 'suck' is in a black sans serif font, it is very rough which is helpful when representing the wierd kid as different and strange. The 'it' is in a capital, rustic font that is normally associated with footballers or jocks. We chose this as our overall title as we feel it represents a teen comedy really well and it represents our chosen character groups at a high level.
These other two typography ideas where found during our research, again they follow the idea of masculin and femanin font styles. We thought that the 'suck' in these were to femanin which represented the popular girls rather than the weird kids. As for the 'it' in these two fonts we decided that they didnt represent the personality of a jock aswell as the font we ended up chosing, this is because one of them is quite feminin due to the serif font lettering and the other one is too perfect in the sense of the plain block lines.
Credits Typography;

We looked at a wide range of fonts when it came to credits and the titles for each clique. One font stood out the most which was 'cut cartoon', this font is; Sans serif, uppercase and in a cartoon style. We felt that this fits our theme and genre of our opening really well due to the excitement portrayed through the bubbles above the words and the really loose writing style. Our opening is based on the weird kids which is another reason why we feel this font style is effective and appropriate, due to the font being informal it makes the opening more exciting and relateable for the audience.
Group Fonts;
We decided that we wanted to use the same font for each clique due to an issue we had with uploading fonts to sony vegas pro. Athough it wasnt what we originally wanted to do, it did work out really well and we believe that it is far more effective than the fonts that we had before.
By chosing the same font we have stuck to the conventions of a teen comedy and made the opening less overwhelming due to the audienc having to focus on so many things at once.
