Preliminary Task Treatment:
Costume-
We chose to keep the costumes pretty simple, we asked the people who participated in our music video to wear simple yet colourful outfits. We chose this because we wanted to portray a high energy fun vibe so we felt vibrant colours would be more suitable. A bonus to the casual clothing was the fact that all of our participants had these available to them.
Props-
Through out our music video we used a varitey of props, these included; Pom Poms, Icecreams and a microphone. We decided to use the pom poms during the section of the song where the words 'Shake it' are continuously repeated. We chose to do this to add a bit more colour as well as dramatic movements to give a feeling of fun and excitement. The icecreams were used as a pun towards the end of the track when the words 'Ice cold' were used, we decided to use the icecreams to create a sense of humour. The microphone was used so we could add some strongly performance based elements into our work, the use of a microphone made that feeling that we were going for really clear. The used of the microphone also allowed us to give a better performance as we were able to hold it, move it and dance around it.
Setting-
We used 3 main settings during our prelim, these were a feild, an empty wall and a small gravelled road. The field was used the most during our filming process beacause during the times of filming the lighting was really good there and due to this lighting all of the colours were enhanced which left us with a more professional finish. We decided to use a white empty wall whilst filming the performance elements of our video because it allowed us to maintain attention on the performer, their lip syncing and their body language. The gravelled roadwas used during a small dance segment, we chose this setting because it had a lot of space, good lighting and included some bushes which we felt would make a good overall finish to our product.
