Lip Syncing Research:

What is lip syncing?

Lip syncing is the process of matching lip movements with pre recorded vocals, this is mostly used when artists record things such as music videos but some artists use this technique when performing live on stage which causes a lot of controversy. A lot of music artists used lip syncing during live performances to achieve a sound that can only be obtained through a recording studio. Many fans feel betrayed by this as they feel the artist does not have any good vocal abilities if they are un able to perform their music live. The art of lip syncing takes a lot of practise and is easily noticable if it is done incorrectly.

For our preliminary task our group have decided to lip sync to Outkasts 'Hey ya'. We have chosen this song because many people in our group have very different opinions and tastes in music, we discovered that this is a song that firstly we all like and secondly that we all have great ideas for when it comes to filming. We have decided that we will be doing an upbeat dance segment and we want to include a large amount of people in the actual filming of our product. We feel like this is the perfect song to get everyone up and dancing to create a high energy fun music video.
