This music video follows a story based around homophobic hate crimes towards a gay couple. The narrative theorist that describes this music video the best is Vladimir Propp.  Propped suggests that every music video contains a certain set of character types, within this video we see the hero. The hero is the partner who attempts to save the other, the damsel in distress, the partner who needs saving. And finally the villain, the gang leader. We can tell which character is which through the way they act and the way their costumes are.
